articles on your site can be as long as you want them to be. It really doesn't matter that much. If you are wanting to submit articles to a directory they should usually be around 500 words.

Every Article website has own rules means every website has define own body minimum limit, it about minimum 400 words. If you write less it, they do not approve your articles to be published because your articles doesn’t have sufficient words. Small articles are usually disapproved.
