SEO difficulty after changing site from "users who know link" to "open to public"

I created a website about two months ago. At first, I had it so that only those who had the link could navigate to the site until I got the content presentable. I forgot to switch it to "open to public." I did that about two weeks ago. I registered my business with Google local and also with Bing local by the verification/mail in procedure. Business won't show up in local of either search engine & even by typing the direct name of my business, the city and other very specific search terms, I do not show up at all by any browser. I've gone several pages deep on general searches and don't show up at all there either.

Is there anything I need to be doing differently or just wait?
