Page Rank and directory submission for Inner pages

I have seen many directories which contain really high Page Rank. I have submitted my websites in many free, paid directoriesn as well. I have recently come to know that there is not any page rank on pages where my websites have been submitted. Is my submissions gone in vain? Am I wasted my time? All my websites have been shown in the medium as well as high PR directories. As the linked pages do not have any Page Rank, my websites do not get also its benefit. I have seen that most of my inner pages have PR in DMOZ. Does anyone want to share his or her views?

mostly inner page directory not good because it not fast caching, so you could not use more than, if you create others such as higher blog, forum than it better link building.
