if you have one site like (A), and i have 2 site like (B) and (C).
if B link to A and A link to C so its a three way linking.

3 Way Link Exchange is useful to prevent artificial robots to identify link swap between two sites. Now, Reciprocal links can be easily identified and having lesser value in terms of ranking. In threeway, you are going to put a link of your link partner's site in one of your sites, where your link partner keep you link in other site (own by him/her) or the same site you are targeting. So cross checking of links can be avoided.
