Hi,

I am confusing that if I use my existing website content for press release submission then is it harmful for my website ranking in search engines due to content duplicacy???

Yes, if you use same content than your content is considered as a duplicate content and it will be harmful for your website ranking because search engines don't give importance to any website which have low quality content and duplicate content.

Never use same content in press release as same as site content. For getting maximum of your efforts, You have to promote your site with fresh and unique content with good keyword density, keyword prominance and keyword proximity. Your site may be panalise if you have duplicate content.
