Hi

XML Sitemap, which is a technical version and you or I do not necessarily need to be seen, but it means reading about pages in a site for search engines, their relative importance to each other and how often they are updated. You can also submit this version of Sitemap in Google Webmaster Tools for quick indexing and slotting in memory.

HTML sitemap is more like the ones you saw in the shopping mall, tells you that there is a store right there, so you can not go straight to there and go for two miles running. This type of Sitemap is for us humans only, as opposed to XML, which can only see Google Gods!

Hope this helps you.
