I personally prefer forum links.Beside ranking advantage, we can expect some traffic from them.Article sites are not so much beneficial when it comes to visitors.

All Link are effective if it have quality but Article Posting link are very effective .

Forum links is what works for me. I am somewhat dismissive about article links with article marketing taken a backseat post the panda update.

I think Forums links would be more helpful to get more visitor to the website. Through these you could get a good quality of backlink. These backlink increases your page rank of the website. It has been great way to promote the product or service via these forums. It will gain you more customer and clients to your business.

All of them are effective and a must to push you to appear top in SERPS. So just use them both.
