Hi Friends,

How to optimize web images for the site? Is adding image tag would be useful for image optimization. What are the submission sites we have for image optimization?

Thanks in Advance

Optimize your images for search engines:

Keywords in alt text, text around the image, image name, page title;
Preferred image formatting – jpg;
Separate SE accessible image folder;
Image freshness. (SEW suggests re-uploading your images to keep them fresh);
Enabled image search option at Google webmaster tool.
Reasonable image file size (see the discussion at WW)
Limited number of images per page;
Popular and reliable photo sharing hosting (e.g. Flickr is reported to help in Yahoo! image optimization).

In properly way we say to image optimization is involves using the "Alt" attribute when adding images to your site. There is a reason behind it when Google Crawlers cannot read images, so you add the "Alt" attribute to tell these crawlers what it is. What you place here also is what is shown in the event the image doesn't load !
its called image optimization !

Name of the image in the image folder should be a keyword ,but there should be relevant name .Always use alt attribute in image tag .
