Meta Description Length

Still cleaning up an old site, google webmaster tools tells me there are 500 pages with short meta descriptions.

Anyone have a good number on the bottom limit on Meta Description length?

I suggest going for the max which is around 150 - 160 characters. I'm not sure about the minimum, by the way. If you don't mind us asking, what's your current meta description? It might give us a clue as to why the Google Webmaster Tools are telling you that your description's too short.

Meta Description length should be 160 character with space. It plays a huge role in optimization. If you cross this limit then it is not beneficial for your website.

I think Meta description max length 160 character because search engine truncate max 160 character.

As per my experience, 150 to 160 character is maximum limit for meta description. Some people are adding more than this but I have observe in search result it display about 150 to 160 character.
