I just used Wikipedia as a reference. Oh, man. Anyway, it's a name associated to a website. When you're going to look at the top of your browser, you'll see the address bar. From the www. or whatever short string is there, until the first slash after the http:// is the domain name. In this page's case, it's forums.hostsearch.com. I hope this helps.

You have to select a domain name for your website according to your choice or correlated to your business it’s just like a name for the purpose to use for internet like for Google is a domain name for internet purpose we use it like www.google.com.

Hey domain name is nothing but you website name. Or you can say url but url contains protocol and www.
Example http://www.example.com is my url or website address now if I only specify example.com then it
