Hi,
A few years ago, standard SEO techniques such as on-page keyword densities and link-building programs were very effective in helping small business websites improve their rankings in the search results. Today, however, optimizing your website using only standard techniques is just not enough - the search engines now evaluate a multitude of additional factors to determine whether your website will be listed on page 1 or page 101 (or worse!).

So what does this mean for your business? It means that Google and the other search engines look for ranking signals not only from your optimized website, they also look at other sources all over the web.

So what can your small business do to build a stronger online presence? Here are 5 things to try :

1. Get Social Now!

2. Get Blogging

3. Build a Content Pipeline

4. Send Out Press Releases

5. Integrate Your Online Marketing

Even though if we follow these 5 seo ranking strategies alone it is too difficult to get high competitive keyword to rank. Google is considering more than 300 factors for ranking a single keyword in it.

So it is better to implement all the off page optimization techniques in a site to get ranked in search engine as quick as possible.

Good tips..
1.Metadata

When designing your website, each page contains a space between the <head> tags to insert metadata, or information about the contents of your page.
* Title Metadata

Title metadata is responsible for the page titles displayed at the top of a browser window. It is the most important metadata on your page. The title of your page should be relevant to the content contained within and should vary as you click through the pages.
*Description Metadata

Description metadata is the textual description that a browser will use in your page search return. Think of it as your site’s window display—a concise and appealing description of what is contained within, with the goal of encouraging people to enter.
* Keyword Metadata

Keyword metadata are the search words and terms that people type when they want to find your page. You’ll want to include a variety of words/terms, including common misspellings. However, don’t get greedy: if your list becomes excessive, the browser may completely ignore the data. As a general rule, try to keep it to about 10 or 15 terms.
2.Have a link-worthy site

Focus on creating relevant links within the text. Instead of having “click here” links, try writing out the name of the destination. “Click here” has no browser value beyond the attached URL, whereas “Michigan Tech Enterprise Program” is rich with keywords.
3.Publish relevant content

Quality content created specifically for your intended user increases site traffic, which improves your site’s authority and relevance. To produce quality content, pepper your text with keywords that mirror the most likely search terms used to find your site.
4.Update your content regularly

You’ve probably noticed that we feel pretty strongly about content. Search engines do, too. Regularly updated content is viewed as one of the best indicators of a site’s relevancy, so be sure to keep it fresh.
5.Use alt tags

Always describe your visual and video media using alt tags, or alternative text descriptions. They allow search engines to locate your page, which is crucial—especially for those who use text-only browsers.

1. Make the URL of your web pages search engine friendly.

2. Link to the exact same domain every time.

3. Avoid getting sandboxed by Google by building links up slowly. Too many links too fast can result in penalization of your website, and worse yet, it can disappear forever.

4. Use social networking to promote your website. Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter are now being counted as links in some manner, if they point towards your website. This doesn’t mean that you should spam your profile or fan page with links, but an every now and then link wouldn’t hurt.

5. Use RSS feeds to get deep links. If you have a blog, generate an RSS feed and see if you can get some quality backlinks through these RSS feed submissions.

6. Concentrate on targeted web traffic as opposed to general web traffic. This will engage readers further, and they’ll spend longer on your page. This could lead to more links, sales, and even more traffic.

7. Create a site map and submit it to Google. This will tell Google about every web page that your site has to offer, but won’t guarantee they will all be indexed.

8. Try to attract traffic through images. Google’s image search is a top source of traffic for many webmasters. Optimizing your site images can help Google tell what your images are, and you might get some additional traffic and links in the process.

9. Submit your website to web directories. Submitting your website to high quality directories are sometimes not free, but can help with search engine rankings. Your link will be placed into the category that it is most relevant, or you will find the category that is most suiting for your site.

10. Research keywords. Keyword research can help you rank better in Google through some simple, free tools available. The Adwords Keyword Tool is one way to get a list of keyword phrases to include in your website.
