HTML sitemap is created for your visitors, indexing bot such as Googlebot might have a better chance to crawl your website links.

XML sitemap allows webmasters to inform search engines about URLs in your blog/website for easy indexing. XML sitemap is created for search engines but not for humans.

An XML sitemap is the use of providing information to the search engine about our website. The XML file is used for XML sitemap which is provide list of all pages of our website, so by making of the XML sitemap search engine simply crawl all pages of our website, by this method it helps search engine to find out all pages of the website. An HTML sitemap allocates website visitors to easily navigate a website. It is a bulleted outline text version of the site navigation. The anchor text show in the outline is linked to the page it references. Website users can go to the sitemap to locate a topic they are unable to find by searching the website or navigating through the site menus.

There are lots of webpages available on a website and sitemap is a list of available webpages which is most helpful for SE crawlers as well as visitors to access . If you are not able to find any page on any website then you can check sitemap of that website to access that webpage.
