Page title is always important. Title is part of meta and it is places in header of webpage. When google crawlers comes on site they first access to head of the webpage. Because of page meta google crawler come to know about the page content.

Remember that title should not too much big and too much small. Ideally it should be between 60 to 70 characters long.
It should be relevant to page content. Avoid keyword stuffing in meta.
