Some Check List after this website will usually regain its original ranking,
1. update the meta tags and content present on the website.
2. check faulty robots.txt (it can also also deindex your domain)
3. Automated queries to Google: Tools on your site, probably a bad idea.
4. Link manipulation: Check for Paid links, hidden, excessive reciprocal, shady links etc.
