If your website is not RSS-ready, you may either migrate its actual format to a software platform with Really Simple Syndication enabled, or hire a developer to implement RSS feeds into your actual web design, format and coding. This is necessary if you want to use RSS for page rank and many other purposes. Once that you are sure to have RSS enabled on your site, analyze your distribution strategy. The first thing to do is pinging the update services. Some publishing systems like WordPress have a default service that is called automatically when content within your site is added or modified. In addition, this and other software allow to ping manually by adding the URL of the updating services, usually in a field that appears in the bottom of the edition page or clicking a link.
