I totally agree with you! Only Google doesn't consider No-Follow links.

I would think the SEO techniques (on page/ off-page) should be the same, whether Yahoo or Google or other search engines, but trying to get back links from Yahoo based sites as mentioned by Jerrick I think would be more useful.
