I bought a small static website to try out some adsense and affliate programs and I have a few questions. The site was not well indexed for the keywords, I am working on that, but in the process I went from a static site with .html files to using a CMS that does not append .html to the end of the url. There are only about 30 pages, so I guess I could write out a bunch of 301 redirects, or is there a blanket 301 that will cover redirecting a foo-page.html to just foo-page? The second part of this question is, is it really necessary to have the .html? I don't think having to re-index the pages would be an issue, yahoo and Bing don't have any pages indexed anyway.
