The thing is that, On your webpage, If you have multiple URLs pointing to a same page, you can add nofollow one of the links. what do you think?

Some people use nofollow link as internal page so google unable to crawl from other subdomain or subfolder site . He probably scare other sub site might influence the main page quality and hopefully the single page SEO is enough for him to rank on top of SERP. He only want single site to be rank rather than other sub pages.

The search engines can easy crawls the unique information to your site and it is called also internal linking to other sites.

This is a standard SEO practice to save the link juice of the link originating page. Lets say you have two pages....Page A and Page B. From page A a link points to Page B. The page A has high Page Rank and authority and you don't want that link juice of that page A to be passed to the page B. Basically, "no follow" attribute is used to save the link juice of the link originating page.
