In SEO we can initially target long tail keywords for a new website and get ranked in a quicker period of time. But in PPC we can use main keyword or short tail keyword for a site, the only thing you need to bid more for highly competitive keyword.

I think there is no much difference, you need to focus on buyer keywords for both PPC and SEO, since browser keywords are not that profitable.

In PPC your goal for keyword research is..Which keywords are going to make you more money for your cost per click.

In SEO used of long-tailed keywords can be done and this helps in getting ranked in a short period of time while in PPC it is the other way around.
