If you allow real people to comment and what they write adds value (questions, opinions, humor) then it will help your site because more people will bookmark it, and return to it. I've read in many articles that when you start your bogging, you should also visit other blogs within your niche and get them and some of their users interested in your blog and add comments (value) to your site/articles.

This commenting issue has been a very confusing situation for me launching my blog about 6 months ago. I am yet to go out on my tour of posting comments on others blog but will do this and see how it goes both in truly presenting good argument for my comments and leaving my own anchor text for backlinks. My issue has been the issue of do I allow others to comment on my blog postings or do I not? The argument I was just given by a very successful blogger is to allow all comments to obtain as much traffic as possible. The gentleman that advised me of this is ranked about 20,000 globally for his blog and he allows all comments no matter how ridiculous. To me it appears to come down to going for page rank on google vs. going for traffic and so far the argument for traffic seems to be the way I am leaning. Page rank to me just doesn't mean what it used to. I would love to hear others comments on this. Please do comment.
