For your own your website, you can use Google Webmaster tool. For any other website you can try Bing Webmaster tool.

Google webmaster is the only perfect tool to check all your real backlinks. All others give just contradictory informations. I checked the backlinks of my website and got the results very different in some backlink checker. I gone through so many tutorials and found that the Google webmaster is the only perfect source.
