Do you need any specific server location?

You can check review sites for reviews on the selected hosting provider. The main things that you need to keep in mind before opting for a hosting provider are:
1) Scalability- a good host should allow you to upgrade or downgrade your account/package as per your requirements.
2) Quality Support- support is one of the most important aspect. A hosting provider should offer free 24x7 support to its clients.
3) Management- A good host should offer fully managed server, so that you as a client would not have to look into the management part of the server.
4) Network- Make sure that the hosting provider that you are opting for has a good reputation for his network. Uptime is another important aspect so that your website is available most of the time. A 99.95% or a 99.99% is a very good uptime.
5) Pricing- A good hosting provider offers variety of quality hosting packages at reasonable price.

I believe there's a sense in making a comparison research for their plans.
Try to check downtownhost.com website hosting (https://www.downtownhost.com/) solutions. Your sites will be always online and your host will not get on your nerves.

Don't have an idea about it but you can send an email or initiate live chat if they have one to see how responsive their support is.
Check for reviews about them on the site and other review forums.
You can also check if they have an active forum.

These things will give you a better idea about the reliability of the host.

What are requirements by the way?

To my mind, you'd better choose reputed and time-tested web host. Say hostforweb.com (http://www.hostforweb.com/) would be great choice.
Their servers are fast & reliable. Another plus is the variety and depth of easy apps applications that they have.
Their pricing is reasonable, IMHO.

It's a tie for me. You can either choose Hostgator or GoDaddy. Just take your pick.
