Wordpress and Joomla both are good. But if you want to develop a professional website then probably Joomla would be ideal.

I'd give the advantage to WordPress, because of its ease of use for end users, easy installation, excellent customization capabilities through a large number of plugins and good SEO options. If we consider a large community ready to help at any time, Wordpress is the best solution.

I used all three solutions and WordPress has left the best impression on me because of the ease of use and speed of learning. If you have some basic knowledge of web design the whole process of making the site is more easier.

WordPress is a free and open source blogging tool and a content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. It has many features including a plug-in architecture and a template system. It allows for customization of the site functionality unique to that Theme. Word press allows for quick changes of the visual design and layout of a WordPress site. It removes the need for a typical WordPress site owner to have to learn CSS, HTML, and PHP in order to have a great-looking website.

The difference with WordPress and Joomla is that Joomla is the complexity. Joomla is a very complex product. In WordPress you have only plugins, in Joomla you have components, modules, and plugins – you also have many types of plugins.

I suggest you to use Wordpress. It is mostly used by most of the users, Wordpress offer you ready made plugins, also you can edit by adding your custom coding. Wordpress provides Very user friendly Admin Panel so it is also very beneficial. Also it gives you Search Engine friendly SEO Plugins, which helps you to get good results.

I use Wordpress and Joomla as well as a few other Open Source CMS'

The truth is, you should use the one that best fits your purpose. Wordpress is the best for blogging and great for newbies to build a functional site with, but Joomla is better for sites with other functionality.

For example the Mosets Tree component is better than any Wordpress alternative for a directory, Virtuemart is much better than anything Wordpress has for e-commerce.

The key is not to put all of your eggs in one basket and try and stay in tune with all of them

Which one is the best when you want to develop a professional website, WordPress or Joomla or blogger?

Hi,

Okay, so Blogger is good, but it is losing out to WordPress due to the sheer vastness of the latter's themes and plugins. At this point, WordPress offers 1780 themes (many of them free) and about 26,000 plugins. That's a lot of customization for you.

Moreover, in terms of CMS (Content Managing System) WordPress occupies about 66% of the market share, as compared to Joomla's 10%.

As a WordPress user myself, I would recommend using the same. I signed up with WordPress after carefully researching pros and cons of each and looking at the numbers that mattered.

Last but not the least, you said you wanted to build a professional website, didn't you? Well, many web hosting companies offer WordPress Hosting on their servers, which are basically specialized plans for websites running on WordPress.

So I would definitely recommend WordPress.

Let me know if you have any more queries on this subject.

Unique Features

Responsive design
Possibly the best feature of Mystile is it’s device agnostic design. That means whether you’re viewing the theme on your desktop, your tablet or your smartphone, it responds and adapts delivering an optimised design for that device.

WooCommerce Goodness
As you’d expect, Mystile makes full use of all of WooCommerce features. We’ve painstakingly married theme and plugin to provide a seamless front-end experience. Every single one of WooCommerce widgets has been lovingly styled to match the beautiful design, as has each key component of the plugin such as the product categories, product descriptions, cart, checkout and user account sections. Read all about the benefits of WooCommerce here.
Home Page Feature Slider

Customisability
There are several colour schemes built into Mystile ensuring there is a look to match your brand identity. Choose from red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, brown, floral, industrial & honey

Custom Homepage
Display your stores vital contact details, latest blog post and featured products on the homepage. Take advantage of the widget regions to truly customise your homepage.

Shortcodes
We’ve included two custom shortcodes in Mystile. A sticky note which you can use to highlight a message on your site, a sale banner to notify users when you’re running special offers and an easy way of displaying ‘mini-features’ – columns of content accented by iconography.

I don't have a lot of experience with Joomla (I did install it on my server to play with it at one point, and was not impressed, but that was a long time ago)... but can confirm what the others are saying that there are some great resources available in the WordPress community. I personally prefer Wordpress. It is easy to use. You can buy template or any programmer to customize for a few dollars. It is also very seo friendly and can rank much faster and lot of online support. learning curve is very minimal on wordpress. Joomla is not that easy that some users expect and as you may know Drupal is the most complicated program among the most popular CMSs. You can see the comparison chart of WordPress, Joomla and Drupal on http://www.threehosts.com/ratings/wordpress-vs-joomla-vs-drupal.html (http://www.threehosts.com/ratings/comparison-software/wordpress-vs-joomla-vs-drupal.html). Unlike WordPress, Blogger doesn't allow users to publish blogs on other web hosts and people have to use DNS to redirect their blogs to a custom URL. Blogger cannot be installed in a web server and all blogs have to be on Google's servers..

I use to build sites with WordPress and Joomla! but mostly when I finished website built with WordPress, client asked for some new specific feature which was not easily implemented in WordPress (sometimes it was not possible) so then I reworked the site in Joomla!. Even WordPress is popular, simple and easy I mostly use Joomla! because of its complexity and option to easily and powerfully customize the code (as there are great and modern code techniques which can be easily extended). But I like them both – WordPress for really simple websites (blogs) and Joomla! for complex websites.
