Here I have something to share , XML sitemaps can allow website to specify the urls META DATA. the meta data contains these features

(a) last update date of URL
(b) frequency as compare to other url listed in same sitemap
(c) priority of url for indexing as compare to other url

NOTE : don't include broken links in sitemap whether XML ,HTML , ROR, TEXT . It can go against website. Besides frequency of URL should be carefully taken so that when crawler reach to website they should get new updated data.
