A review is usually given by a customer. So when a customer says the service is good that does improve your credibility.
However, there are various co.s who use false reviews which mislead others.
A review would give you credibility provided its genuine.

Nowadays is very hard to trust a review, simply because there's no many affiliate programs that live from those reviews.

The reviews you usually read are from affiliates, there's an digital ocean of Web Hosting reviews sites and blogs that are mainly there to generate an income out of affiliate programs. For a fact the top ranked websites for keywords like "Best web hosting" , "top 10 webhosting" "web hosting awards" and alikes are sites that give you crap to make you buy a web hosting package from one those companies they are listing as the best.

You can also note that this sites listing the same companies over an over with very limited variations, that not because those companies are the best, its because they have affiliates programs that are supposed to pay well, although they not always do.

That is entirely true, reviews could add on to a company's credibility if those are real customer reviews, not just paid people writing for a company. Just for me, do not trust reviews immediately, I research more before believing its true :)

No I do not think so. Many fake reviews are scattered all over the internet today and I cannot just trust all of them. I hope there will be a site that could really evaluate the effectiveness of a provider honestly. :D

Not really but if your review all from your client base and well known in market then it would be help alot .
People will think your serve all the big company and you are professional enough to trust.
It doesn't matter of quantities but quality reviews are important.

Yes and no. Generally, clients that have good experiences wont leave a review about 75% of the time. Usually a customer will post a review if they are not liking the service. So look for low to no bad reviews and long well written outlining good reviews. The ones who make you feel like it was you with the company.
