Crawling is where search engines robots move from web page to web page by following the links on the pages. The pages "found" are then ranked using an algorithm.

Indexing is where search engine has crawled the web and ranks the URLs found using various criteria and places them in the database, or index.

Search engine indexing means collects, parses, and stores data to provide fast and accurate information retrieval

And

Crawling means a program or automated script that browses the web pages in a methodical manner in order to provide up to date data to the particular search engine.

Index is a in database design, a list of keys (or keywords), each of which identifies a unique record. Indices make it faster to find specific records and to sort records by the index field. That is, the field used to identify each record.

Crawling is where spider crawl over your site from webcrawler so call webspider to everylink to every hyperlink you build and on your site. Once your site get crawl , you site will get index and update in the record.

Crawling is when a search engines robot 'bot' comes to your site and starts looking about at the information and browses for stuff to index.

Indexing is when a page on your site gets put into the search index ( so its searchable ) Indexing is the part done after the crawling and is the bit when the search engine looks into what the crawler found and then finds what your page is about so it can be indexed correctly.
