Dofollow links are those links which allow a search engine to follow its path. It means if there is link which takes the user to the target URL but refuses the search engine is not a Dofollow link.

Do-follow links provide better "link juice" for boosting your website up the search engine rankings.No-follow links can often be highly context-relevant and come from sources that are likely to generate greater levels of referral traffic.

1) What is Do Follow?

When Google bots are crawling a website they look for external links point to other websites. If this links is “do follow” then search engines will follows the link and so link juice gets passed. For eg:

<a href=http://www.etechdiary.com rel=”dofollow”> Etechdiary </a>

<a href=http://www.etechdiary.com rel=”external”> Etechdiary </a>

Notice the rel=”dofollow” and rel=”external” in the above code. They define the link as do follow. Also if you do not use rel attribute the link will be treated as ‘dofollow’. These links are important in terms of SEO as they are tracked by search engines and the value (which is called link juice) of the links also gets transferred.

SEO Tip: Try to get more “do follow backlinks” from good sites. Avoid paid backlinks.
2) What is No Follow?

If a search engine finds a “no follow” backlink it will just ignore the link and will not get deeper into crawling and no link juice is passed. Fo eg:

<a href=http://www.etechdiary.com rel=”nofollow”> Etechdiary </a>

Notice the “nofollow” attribute in the above code. This defines a code as “nofollow”. So “nofollow” backlinks are not important in terms of search engines as it is not crawled. The comments section mostly have no follow links. But that does not mean that these links are useless. You can still get some quality traffic from these also

No follow links have many advantages and should be used on the website when we want to tell the search engines which pages or links are not important and should not be followed. Links from authority sites like Wikipedia and other similar, although no follow can bring value to your site. For example, you can get valuable visitors and constant traffic to your site.

An important note though in case you are focusing only on dofollow vs nofollow in building a back link campaign, these aren't the only things to focus on.

Page Rank of the page in question is important, but equally important is the "trust" or authority of a webpage. Ideally you want to get back links from a page that is trusted, allows dofollow links, and has a Page Rank between 9-1.

To find the Page Rank of a site just do a google search. To find the Trust flow of a site use the Free tool from Majestic SEO. It even has a plugin for Chrome so you can look at a page you are on. Lastly to find if a page or site allows dofollow links if you use Chrome just right click, view source, and navigate to one of the outbound links.

If you are asking for your own site, I always use no-follow to external sites unless its one that has returned a do-follow link to me and it won't hurt my site by doing so.

Dofollow Link is that the Dofollow Link has an extraordinary HTML Markup inside that advises the Search Engines like Google to FOLLOW the end inside the connection. Presently have in minded that utilizing this extraordinary markup or not will make the connection a Dofollow Link immediately.

Nofollow is a worth that could be relegated to the REL characteristic of a HTML a component to train some internet searchers that a hyperlink ought not to impact the connection target's standing in the web crawler file.

Hello.............Do Follow links are links that count as points, pushing SEO link juice and boosting the page rank of the linked-to sites, helping them go higher in the SERPs as a result. "Nofollow" provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines "Don't follow links on this page" or "Don't follow this specific link."

Originally, the nofollow attribute appeared in the page-level meta tag, and instructed search engines not to follow (i.e., crawl) any outgoing links on the page. For example:

<meta name="robots" content="nofollow" />

a) DoFollow (we can use dofollow in following instances)

Refer to site having related content.
High quality websites (like Google blog)
Link to the original source (in case you have referred content)

b) NoFollow (we can use dofollow in following instances)

In comments section as we do not have any control on it (any spam website might write a comment which might affect your website)
Unrelated sites in content.
Casino, gambling, porn sites.
Affiliate Links (They are meant for linking and on sale basis commission, then why give them our link juice)

Dofollow or nofollow both are very useful in SEO (http://e07.net), there is no doubt to it really, if you are doing link building then you don't have to check nofollow or dofollow just keep building links and it would help a lot.

Do follow tags are those from where you get the PR juice and traffic but from no follow tags you will get only traffic , no PR juice. For a website both do follow and no follow tags are important as traffic must the priority.

Do follow is hyperlink inclusion that tells search engines to pass on any credibility or influence to an outbound link. When Google bot visits a website it reads website pages and includes links with do follow attribute and excludes link with no follow attribute.
Nofollow is html tag that website owners, add to links in their website for the search engines not to crawl, notice, or acknowledge a link. While a nofollow link is ignored, but popular social networking site like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Myspace sites are nofollow, but they do provide a lot of other benefits.
