301 are redirection errors usually when old pages are redirected new pages.
try to edit .htaccess file
well there are different codes for languages like php, asp, asp.net etc
what language you are using in website

We use 301 redirect when a webpage is available on more on URL and 301 redirect, redirect one URL to another and it also prevents from duplicate content. Because Google hate duplicate content and sometimes websites get penalized due the duplicate content and in the absence of 301 redirect.
