Yahoo - as a search engine

Engine is surely losing its sheen and soon might become obsolete with Google's dominance. I guess yahoo will start looking for other areas to improve than that of their search engine

I don't think so there is any comparison between Yahoo and Google, Yahoo still has his own worth and values.

You are right, Yahoo still has his own worth and values in case of Yahoo news and yahoo finance etc. yahoo is very poor in term of search engine, but some services of yahoo is very good in comparison of Google. Such as: yahoo answers, yahoo travel, yahoo news, yahoo TV, yahoo music etc.
