I think there are various ways to promote your forum. You can write articles that can be published online or placed in Article directories. Include information about your new forum in your byline. If your forum is not a competitor to forums for which you are already a member, you could post details about the forum if it is allowed by forum rules (such as in the Marketplace area). You can include a link to the forum in your signature on your emails, in forums and on blogs.
