I have a mailing list of about 3000 users. The host was on only allowed me to send 200 emails per hour so I had to switch temporarily to a dedicated server. I think this is overkill for my needs and way to expensive for me.
Can any one tell me some hosts that will allow me to send my mailing list out with out paying a ton of money?
The list is built around a custom PHP / MSQL script I created. My only requirements are, PHP, MYSQL, cron and the ability to send emails to a lot of people.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

To be honest - plenty of...
I think that your problem should be considered from other side. As far as I understand you need to send csrds or something luke that at once few times a year, don't you?
Sio why do not simply divide 3000 to 15 parts and send them?

The emails that I need to send are alerts that will be sent out every few months . the problem is they are time sensitive so if I split them the people at the end of the list will not receive them for 15 hours. and if I leave room for confirmation emails and unsubscribe emails that number will be even higher..

I think that if you explain things for the web hosting company you would like to go I'm sure you'll be able to get dedi (with custom settings ones) for cheaper.

You may look for shared plans with the higher limit of email per hour, say a2hosting.com offers 500 email per hour
(b) Sending unsolicited mass E-Mailings (i.e., to more than 25 users) which provoke complaints from the recipients or sending more than 500 emails per hour even if solicited.

or get a VPS plan.

i believe you should have a dedicated server, and don't mind the price. i think most of the shared webhost has limit on the number of emails that can be sent in an hour or in a day.
if you need a cheap dedicated server, check out resellerspanel.com (http://www.resellerspanel.com/dedicated_servers/index.html?a=jrong)

You should look at using a dedicated email marketing service like icontact or mailchimp.

Most shared hosting providers will not want the risks of having users sending more than a hundred emails per hour. The problem is that a mailing could get marked as spam, and then that could result in everyone on the server not being able to send mail because the IP is on a blacklist. The hosting provider also has to deal with possible spam complaints.
As others have said, a VPS may work well for you without requiring the budget of a dedicated server. There are also companies that specialize in sending newsletters to large lists, such as ConstantContact and Aweber.com

The thread seems to be slightly old.
The limit of 500 emails per hour offered by www.a2hosting.com seems to be the biggest I have encountered.

Agreed;) It must be VPS at least for such kind of web site.

A low end unmanaged VPS will cost less than $30 per month and that should be more than enough. Still I believe ther could be shared hosts that doesnt have an hourly limit on emails. Checkout the smaller hosts.

Even if you could use a shared host you'd still need to set up a new IP and SPF to have any chance of successful email delivery.

There are plenty offers for low end dedicated servers. This is the best option for you. Most shared hosting servers are setup that way and will prevent you seding that much emails.

You should avoid that shared hosts anyway. This means that they don't care much about security and their servers in general.

Go 3rd party - no hassle... if there is there is someone else to deal with it :) Also, saves your domain / server / etc. being flagged for spamming... which is possible. I used these guys YMLP - never failed me yet.

I believe with aWeber you can have up to 10K subscribers and send them unlimited emails for around $20 per month. This is much less expensive compared to dedicated server for just 3K subscribers.

talk to your host with your problems. They them selves may assist you further.
As no host will welcome some members going out of them for this silly reasons.
