hi,
do not recommend you free host. Free hosting means no responsibility for work of service. They will not care many about uptime, speed etc. Also on most free hots have many limitations that make work with them many nerves. Better spend like 1-2$/mo for some host- sure this money will not let you poor.:D

Free hosting services will not have the additional features like additional disk storage, data transfer, more scripting support(ie. a content management system, an e-commerce shopping cart, etc.), more email accounts, etc.

If i was in your situation, I would never go with a free hosting. When compared with free hosting a cheap shared hosting is a wise option to choose. You won't get enough support or features from a free hosting. You can choose any reliable and cheap shared hosting instead. For example, you can visit www.tucktail.com (http://www.tucktail.com/web-hosting-plans/) here you can get best shared hosting deals starting from just $1.99/mo with 24/7 customer support. Good luck.

I agree with the above comment. They will not take care of your website backup, if you loss any data you will rarely get it back in free hosting option. So it better to spent some money n go with paid hosting option.

Free hosting is not really preferable and for your news site it is not at all good. You would have to deal with ads which would not be liked by your readers.

On the other hand, a basic shared plan would be the best choice for you.

Today everyone wants to searching for free web hosting, for the sake of saving money, but they are not realizing their business value. For professional appearance of business and brand recognition paid hosting is the best option, so better to choose it.

Free hosting may be ideal for those who only want to test their site. And When your website is generally going to be watched by your family or friends then you won’t really mind how substandard it looks.

Free web hosting will not offer you a professional looking website and also you will not getting best support services from your Hosting provider in free Hosting. Moreover, you don’t have any uptime or data protection guarantee in Free hosting.

So, I will suggest you if you want to host any business website, you must choose Premium Hosting instead of Free Hosting.

In my opinion, free hosting is like a piece of cheese in the trap.

Usually it looks like this with free hosting providers: The hosting company is offering you a place for hosting for a time while you perform a specific job or anything else, but if they don't like the contents you host or the the quantity of resources you are using don't suit them, they can simply throw you away from this company as your don't pay a penny for the hosting plan.

I don't think that you will feel comfortable with a free host for a long time.
If you place your website on the provider’s server for free, you will have to pay for this service anyway(this is proved).

I will not suggest you to go with free hosting because it enable only few feature of hosting and if is down than you can loose value of your website and traffic. Instant of this you can go with share hosting that is also good and affordable option.

If you are just using it for development you'll probably ok. (remember keep a copy of you data though!)
If uptime and support is important to you consider shared hosting instead, with a provider that has a Service Level Agreement.
One problem many people find with free hosts is that their data could vanish at anytime, and there would be nothing that you could do about it.

Free hosting is only good for personal or blog websites. If you are running a commercial websites, and planning to earn income, it is better to go for Paid hosting.

If you don't have enough cash to spare then free hosting is an acceptable option. But if you want high quality service, go to paid hosting.

WordPress, Blogger and other free blogging platforms provide free hosting for anyone. But the free domain name contains name of the service.

I'm sharing a legal method for students to get a free domain name from Domain Names - Cheap Domain Names. Using the domain on Blogger's (Google's blogging platform) free hosting, any student can make a professional blog.

Here's the method.

Great news for students with .edu email account. Here's how to get a free .me domain. For example http://ilyas.me

1. Join github with .edu email and get unlimited free repositories

2. Developer Pack (including namecheap .me free domain) GitHub Student Developer Pack.

I hope it not only helps but also creates value.

Cheers
