I have been looking into MediaTemple.com grid services http://www.mediatemple.net/webhosting/gs/
and the question I have is who are they meant for? Are they mostly for hosts wishing to eliminate roadblocks and single points of failure or end-users with powerful sites can go for them as well?

SiberName.com offers Turnkey Web Site with Template Monster Templates. You don't need technical expertise - just an Internet connection and a compatible browser and you'll be up and running.

To the OP: if you want to learn more about the grid technologies, you may start here http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/grid/library/gr-fly.html.
It has nothing to do with templates, that's virtualization technology. Or do you mean Sibername.com (www.SiberName) offers that? I checked their site, they seem to be dealing mostly with Windows Net hosting and MS Exchange hosting, couldn't find either VPS or dedis on their site.
