That's a good idea. With blog inside website, we may update content easily. Google seems to be update site that has fresh content. However, in my point of view, we should update value, and unique content for our blog to get effective.

I also believe that a blog of your official website is very necessary to gain more and more traffic. If you continuously update it with useful and user-friendly posts then you can get thousands of traffic.

creating a blog is best way to generate quality traffic. However, the blog created should be related to your main site theme. The blog should always be updated with quality content that makes the reader wanting to come back for more. Failure to which you will suffer from a very high bounce rate which has a negative SEO effects.
