.KIWI new gTLD has been approved by the Internetn Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). .Kiwi will provide an alternative to .co , .org,etc . ,nz for New Zealand companies and individuals.

Registration of .KIWI domain names will become available in August ,when the sunrise period will begin .During the sunrise period,trademark owners will have the chance to register their marks as .KIWI domains,before the new gTLD becomes available to the general public.It is believed that domain names with the .KIWI suffix will become available to the general public in November,according to CEO of Dot Kiwi,Tim Johnson.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has gone through all new gTLD application with a prioritization of 500 or less .In 436 cases,ICANN has made a decision .
