Digital Marketing vs SEO

I want to know about the basic difference between Digital Marketing and Search Engine Optimization. I think both are related to promoting the products and website using Internet then what's the difference between the two.? And a SEO can also be called as a digital marketer?

I think SEO the best because most of the strategies are can be done freely unlike digital marketing that most of their strategies are paid.

SEO falls under the Digital Marketing umbrella. Digital Marketing is a much bigger picture that deals with all marketing carried out through the digital media. It could be either with knowledge of the recipients (or) without knowledge of recipients. SEO falls under the 'with knowledge of the recipients' category which may be sending messages via. email, IM, RSS, or voice broadcast. The other one, 'without knowledge of recipients' means putting banner ads, PPC or PPA etc. Digital marketing is never the same each day, it evolves and thus the same in the case of SEO, each day it evolves.

If you want quick results, you can use digital marketing... but this will cost you some money... but again, paying doesn't mean you will get good results... you first have to know what you are doing.

As for SEO, there's paid and free.... free meaning you'll do it yourself.
