Hi
I want to add videos to my website, but I find YouTube too slow. Does anyone know of a YouTube type service that is paid? I am happy to pay for any service that would provide nice clear, unitterrupted videos. Any suggestions? Please post below.

Do you need video streaming services? I know that it's installed on hostgator.com reseller plans, serverpoint.com offers this on their shared deals and if you are going to have lots of visitors, you may check VPD deals with FFmpeg installed on them from HostV.com.

That's great - do you know anyone who can customize FFmpeg? Although what I am really looking for is aYouTube-like service where I can embed videos into my website and they do the hosting and the technical stuff - YouTube on steroids!

Most website hosting providers should be able to host media format files
Providing you retain the copyright in them, or add a text file which is the same name as the original file, then most will allow them
The main problem for hosts becomes the bandwidth issue related to them and they may soon use up most, if not all, of your allowance
I certainly allow media files with my website hosting provision and they can be easily integrated into your website

Yes, video hosting will take up a lot of bandwidth so first check with your hsoting company before signing up to make sure you have adequate bandwidth.

Can I install FFMPeg on a shared plan? What will I need to do this? Will jailed access be enough for it?
Are there shared FFMpeg plans among HostV.com offers?

I think that in this case you need dedicated server as huge as your needs are.

You can actually go for a shared plan from cirtexhosting.com as they also offer FFMPeg on their plans
www.cirtexhosting.com/shared.shtml, though you will definitely have more freedom with a VPS plan if you decide to choose www.hostv.com/virtual.shtml
I think it is best to go for VPS hosting because VPS will give you more flexibility.

Youtube is pretty fast for most people. If speed is the only criteria, you may have to recheck your decision to move.

The enhanced web hosting accounts today, loaded with many gigs of transfer per month can be great for running multimedia sites and video feeds online.
You can easily have your video files played on the web. By the way, one option can be turning the video files into the Flash format for making them even smaller in size.

Sorry I am new to this - I would like to separate the hosting of my website and the streaming of the video. I don't want my site to be on the same server as the video. So, I would like to know if there are any sites dedicated just to streaming video. No social network thing like YouTube, no channels etc., just hosts and streaming videos to web sites.

I know that HostWW.net provides services that allow Video streaming. I mean using their VPSs or dedis you may get that.
