Since ServerPoint.com provides different control panels to use for their clients, I may suppose you are making a marketing research for knowing the people's preferrances for the panels?

Am I right?

Is it important? Do end users selecting hosts because of the brand of the control panel?

Sometimes that is the main issue

I think that these control panel for resellers is cpanel for linux and plesk for windows. Each has it's pros and cons and cPanel just seems to be the standard. Hsphere is ok but lacks customization for me.

For Linux hosting I only offer cPanel/WHM but for shared Windows I offer the choice of Plesk or Helm.

Personally I prefer Helm but I have found that most of my customers choose Plesk.

Plesk has the eye candy appeal but is much slower loading than Helm.

Cpanel more in the run, easy to use, easy to manage and easy to configure the clients.

I supply Helm for Windows and Plesk for Linux (so I do have some bias).
But we have been running for a long time and now Parallels have bought Helm I would not look to invest any money in Helm. cPanel have also come a lot further on and I would certainly consider using cP v11 (but probably still choose Plesk ;) )
From a resellers point of view Helm is a dream to use. Plesk is good and cPanel is good once you are used to it.

Hi,

This is maybe an old thread but we thought we could share our choice of control panel and make our first post at the same time.

We are using WHM/cPanel under STABLE tree. We have used custom control panel for a short period of time in 2002-2003 and it was difficult for customers to learn a new control panel even with tutorials.

Still looking to develop the Parallels market at this time but unsure even after testing for a few months.

For me Cpanel wins hands down, as most customers request for Cpanel. I think the main reason being they either find it easy to use or have already used it.

I prefer Cpanel/WHM for linux because its the easiest and fastest in my opinion and for Windows plesk, because its also easy and fast, but It also varies from person to person, but Cpanel and Plesk are the best.

I vote for H-field due to its multi-server capabilities. It also makes it easier to manage Linux and Windows hosting in the same environment, and allow a reseller account just to use both.

Some very good reasons are mentioned in the blog here. This is surely going to be a unique experience for many people who wish to enjoy more benefits out of it.

For resellers, on linux cPanel/WHM and on windows Plesk is an ideal option.

I think in the case of reselling control panel acts as cpanel for Linux and plesk for windows. I do not like this as it is not customized.

I personnaly feel that the most suitable reselling control panel is cpanel which is perfect for linux and when you select for windows go for plesk. Though they both have merits and demorits yet the cPanel is preferred as it is a standard one.
