Focus on unique content as well quality link building. Don't focus only on links on keywords. Also put naked URLs and URLs in the form of text. Hummigbird specially target those websites that links spam that's why all bad-linked website lost their rankings.

Page Rank remains an active ranking signal and Google claims that there is nothing massively different that SEOs need to be doing or worrying about.

It's the same as you did on the previous Google algorithms - good quality content, correct keyword positioning and density, and proper link building. But here's the catch: put more valuable info on your content if possible. It's the nature of Google Hummingbird to find the exact need (not words typed) of the searcher.

use long tail keywords. hummingbird effected you because of mismatching of your content with your keyword.use high quality content that is meaningful and matching with your keyword create high quality back-links don't submit links on websites having low PR and High Alexa and those are note related to your field. avoid keyword stuffing in your content.

You should look into your website content and determine whether it’s over optimized for exact-match keywords.
