If the company (marblehost.com) offers to use the services of 2 state-of-art data centers, which one is more preferable to use? I don't know which one to stick to.
Any ideas?
Not sure what you mean, the question which is more preferable to use? are you meaning which center?
Depends on where the center is located, natural disasters or fiber network in that area.

I would say that better use the one which is closest to your potential audience, but it really doesn't matter.

Chose the one where the infrastructure is better developed. But in some cases, like with santrex.net, which has several datacenters on two continents, it is better to chose the one which is closer to your audience, or offshore if there are any. Sometimes companies have different equipment in their datacenters, and here the specs influence your choise much.

That is depend on the datacenter, not on the web hosting company

Two datacenters - sounds good for me. If the company (marblehost.com in our case) has them in different countries, it means that they take a good care of their clients as they may choose the datacenter that suits them more.

IF the company owns datacenters it tells they are stable enough. Many companies have several dcs with different equipment in them, just as Alcatrazz said. Other companies have the same servers distant from each other. Just like santrex.net - two in Europe one in China and one in US, Different equipment is also taking different place.

Two DCs ... well I'd stick to the company that has more than one datacenter. It seems to me it gives more reliability to the company. Marblehost has done it rightly I mean having their DCs in different countries, at least their customers have the opportunity to choose what they need.

Well if they are both equal I would say take the DC that is closest to you.

Yes. I agree with above post... Equal datacenters usually sutuated on the large distance from each other, while different - closer.. However this is not the absolute rule.

I would say there needs to be some significant benefit to running 2 DCs. I would much rather see one larger well run set up than two lesser ones.
In this case, assuming they are both equally well run, I would go for the one closest to your targer audience.

Having two seperate datacenters in some cases are nice but from a management perspective can be difficult especially in different countries. Your audienence should be where you focus on when selecing a DC.
As I know one of the dcs of MarbleHost is located in the US, and another is in UK... I need to know where is your auduience located and then go to the one which is closer. So i suppose this is an american datacenter...

Such dc location as marblehost.com offers, is very useful if you are going to host a site in Europe, in UK particularly, where hosting is more expensive that in US, but american companies which have datacenters in Europe charge by american prices making it reasonable to host with.
