Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is a technique that is used by all major search engines to crawl and index all the new information, news or website get on the net according to category and related keywords so that the results of search queries can be shown fast.

The contents of a webpage are crawled by a search engine and the most common words and phrases are identified as the keywords for the page. LSI looks for synonyms related to the title of your page.
