I would recommend you to widen the range of your search and check more options as well.
Pretty good hosting services provided by Jumpline.com. If you want reliable, low-cost, excellent web hosting service, don't hesitate, this decent host will meet your expectations in terms of reliability, speed and support.

Of course, Hostgator because of the high uptime rates and professional technical support. See details here (http://webhostingw.com/hostgator-review)

You are asking about 2 different niches of providers.
Hostgator is cheap segment and Liquidweb is vip/premium segment.

Though Hostgator is cheap, it is a great choice not only for a beginner, but also for a professional hosting user.
If I were you, I'd give GlowHost.com (http://GlowHost.com/) a try. Their features have certainly gotten better and they now offer a lot more for the same price.
Servers are reliable. Overall they're just a great company.

I have used Hostgator, but it isn't good enough. Initially i choose a good plan but with time when i started getting business, hostgator started suspending my account. Even i have cleared from them before taking their services. They have all same reason that my site is eating their RAM a lot and thus they are suspending my account.

No doubt, Gigapros.com (http://Gigapros.com/) will work for you. I can not express how happy I am with their services. I don't really enjoy learning about web servers and stuff, however, I have enjoyed getting everything setup, you just need to have a level of patience and explain everything in detail and everything will happen.

HostDepot.com is trustworthy US web host (since 1997). The team has high integrity and they value each customer.
Great cheap service and easy too use.
The interface is easy to use and suitable for beginners.
I feel fortunate to have found them and recommend them highly.

I am using Hostgator and I think more websites use it than Liquidweb.
Aspnix.com (http://Aspnix.com/) is the most reliable one I know. I asked in the support ticket if there's any way they keep backups of our sites. They have been just as responsive on previous occasions when issues came up transferring domain names or reconfiguring software.
They are always willing to take that extra step.

I can say 7Host.com (http://www.7host.com/) is the host you've been looking for. I have yet to experience any downtime, server loads extremely quickly and the support has been amazing.

I don't have any first hand experience with Liquidweb but I've heard some good comments about them. Compared to Hostgator they are certainly more expensive. Hostgator has worked out great for me.

As an alternative I can name citynetworkhosting.com which plans are featured and low-cost. They are providing stable servers and 24/7 available support.

Taking into consideration the situation you have fetched up, can say that Planethoster.net (http://www.planethoster.net/) will be really good for you. The pricing is low and uptime is high, just give a try to their solutions.

You know iFastNet hosting provides web application firewall and site lock to block hackers from attacking common script vulnerabilities such as Joomla and wordpress hacks. Additionally you can get 15% discount using the railgun coupon.

HostGator recently got acquired by EIG and I've heard nothing but issues since the acquisition. They have been moving servers to their own Utah datacenter and its been causing lots of issues for people.

Here is a small comparison between Hostgator vs LiquidWeb in terms of price, reliability, features and support. The purpose of the comparison is not to recommend one host over another. It is meant to help you make an informed judgement.

I've never heard of Liquidweb yet. What year did they start to operate by the way? I know HG has been around for a long time already.
