I want to know which tools can I use to check if a website link is going to have a negative impact on my site? Are there any online tools you can use, free or paid, than can do that?

I ask because I hear there are some sites where getting links from them could actually have a negative impact.

Some of my sites were badly effected by recent Google updates.

Thanks.

Nicholasr I seem these kind of tools is not available on internet. You just get a review of your website. Simple share your url on various forums

Try getting link from relevant sources with niche based websites or blogs. This will help you to make your website more popular with relevant links. Also try to avoid links from link farms. This will ensure genuine links for your website.

There is a tool in Google called Disavow tool, where you can check your bad backlinks and you can work to get them removed individually.
