Let's update the list of cheap dedicated server providers for 2009.

How many web hosts out there offer $30 dedicated servers? How about those who are offering services under $100?

This is an updated post from my original post in 2004 here http://forums.hostsearch.com/showthread.php?t=258

I'm with ValueWeb (now Hostway) paying $180/quarterly but looking for something cheaper.

The terrible reviews of Prontoservers has scared me away from them, but I did find this link to Leaseweb.com which looks very interesting.

29EUR per month (that's $41/mo as of 12/2008) + free setup which seems to get you a AMD Sempron 3100+, 512MB, 160GB HD, 100MB Full Duplex, and 2000GB bandwidth per month. Did I mention they are in the Netherlands (added bonus for those paranoid of the Patriot Act). 10% discount if you prepay 6mo and 25% if you prepay 12mo. I might give them a trial run to see if they're any good.

Edit: Further googling found this gem:

Server Class CPU Cores CPU Memory Hard Drive Bandwidth Price
Refurb Dual P3 Single-Core 2X933MHz 512MB PC133 40GB IDE 2500GB $39.95
Refurb P3 Single-Core 1.0GHz 256MB PC133 25GB IDE 2500GB $29.95
Refurb P4 Single-Core 1.7GHz 1GB DDR 80GB IDE 2500GB $49.95

I have never met something at this price range

I agree with Server. $30 is the price for the VPS not for the dedicated server.

Rating hosts based on price alone is meaningless. There are some dirt cheap hots who offer dedicated servers and charge for even support tickets. $100 is surely the price of a cheap dedi, but $30??

For a price that cheap, good luck with reliability!

$40 or so is probably the lowest reasonable price for a dedicated server with minimal specs/bandwidth. Anything less than that and you have to seriously question the pricing due to cost related factors (power/bandwidth/cooling), rackspace being better off used for higher end servers, ability to maintain business operations for long-term, etc...

I would say $30 is too cheap for a dedicated server. I seen them for $45 and up but like burstnet says you would be better off with a higher end server. You will save more money in the long run with that.

$100/mo will get you a very decent dedicated server on most networks. Usually people are looking for reliability in their networks and hardware, some hosts are defiantly better than others but when I look I go for reliable networks and hardware as well has tech support.

I am happy dealing with 4java.ca as it provides me with superb services, great network uptime, fast speed connectivity, responsive support staff, etc. Moreover, it offers cheap dedicated server packages, so you can also take it into account.

Can get for 100$ but 30$ neven found one... also reliabilty and support is main factoer while choose dedicatd... if price is little more too better go for th ebest dedicated providers like godaddy, liquedweb, rackspace etc

Bull you have to be joking - 4java.ca
Looking at their site setup fee is $450.00 or $650. They must be using the setup fee to buy the server first. Heck you can build your own that way. And then only offering 200 or 300 GB bandwidth thats nothing
