Copying files from your hard drive to the server is a simple process. The host site will prompt you for the name of the directory on your hard drive where your files are stored and the names of the specific files to be uploaded. To avoid confusion, make certain that all files are saved on the server using the same file names that were used on your hard drive. The only software that you require to upload files is a web browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer. Alternatively, free FTP software (File Transfer Protocol) can be used.
Once you have uploaded all your files, you should test your page on the web server and make certain that it functions properly and that all files have uploaded correctly. It is also a good idea to test your page using a different computer to ensure that graphic files are being read from the server and not from your hard drive. It is now time to congratulate yourself. You have published your very first page!

Internet providers provide free hosting space to their customers, there are free and inexpensive website hosts available.
• Check out some of their hosted sites for loading speed.
• Create site before uploading.
• Download FTP and check with your web host to make sure that they support FTP
• Install the file transfer protocol
• Enter the user name and password and server information provided by your web host.
• For FTP transfer programs, select the files from your computer containing the website pages. Click and drag the files from the window containing your computer's files to a similar folder in the other window displaying the files on the web server.
• Check hat all files loaded properly

uploading a website is not a hard thing to do. It is very easy. Use filezilla FTP software to upload your website to your hosting account.

Just install filezilla or core ftp open source softwares, then connect to your hosting address using your login details then you select the file path in your local computer then upload files to servers.

Before that you need to have a hosting account, and you need to register a domain, after that you have to add the domain to your hosting accounts. Just search these things over net you can get even clear idea. Thank you.

Choose FTP from the Access drop-down menu. In FTP host field type the remote server host name. If your domain name is pointed to the correct host, you can type your domain name instead.

Before you can upload any file to your site, you will also need some information from your web host. In particular, you will need to find out the following: The name of the FTP server for your website. For example, your host may tell you that your FTP hostname is "ftp.example.com"

Basically there are two major options. Filezilla and the original Cpanel of Hosting. I find Filezilla helpful.

he process of transferring a file from your computer to your website is often referred to as "uploading" that file or "publishing" it. For web hosts that support FTP, or the File Transfer Protocol, you need a program called an "FTP client" to transfer the file. You can find a list of free FTP clients at..

To upload a website to a server, you'll need to find a website host and FTP application, connect to your server using your FTP application, then upload the previously created website files to your web server through the FTP client.
