I am not an expert. But I will throw some light ...

1. Use web optimized images (Some graphic software minimizes the image weight but still maintain reasonable quality)
2. Use same image accross your web site.
3. Define height and width for images > loads faster.
4. Use Cache rules in yoir .htaccess. So the images that are not modified ofter can be cached minimizing your bandwidth and loading faster)
5. Use 'ALT' tags so search engines know what the image is about.
6. Use meaningful names to images. (like 'roi-tracking.jpg' rather than image01.jpg)

Need perfect keyword research and place it caption at every image. you can also use meta tag for image.It is very good technique for site promotion .
