What to do to make website crawl able?

Which are the important aspects to keep in mind while creating a website that can help making a crawl able website? My previous websites are not crawled by Google. I have created those websites by using Wordpress.

If your website has rich and fresh content than google automatically crawl your site and if you are connecting your website with webmaster then you can also invite google to crawl your site...

You don't need a robots.txt file on a website - it is only needed if you want to block bots from certain sections of your site . Although having said that you can also put a link to your xml sitemap in there for engines like Google. If you want to you can create just an empty file called robots.txt and send that up to your site........

Google crawls each and every website if it found links somewhere on internet. So I think you don't need to any thing special to crawl your website. If you are talking about indexing and appear in search result then you have to make some high quality website. The people suggested above are very good suggestions. Add some very high quality content and you will be indexed. Use Google+ for faster crawling.

As you said in your post that your earlier website which was developed in WordPress was not crawled by Google, in WordPress if you wont create the robots.txt file then WordPress by default show the virtual robots.txt which will not be visible to search engine bots and that's might be one of the reason why your website was not crawled
