As Google advices us to update the site with good and quality content regularly. I am hiring a content writers for my blog, to post at least 4 contents in a week. So monthly i would be adding around 16 articles in my blog.

I just want to know how many pages were indexed by Google. How long it would take to index the new postings. Do i need to work for those blog post to get index?

You can have a sitemap for faster indexing of your blog posts. Moreover you can promote your new posts in social media platforms for a quicker cache and indexing of your new blog posts. You can check your indexed pages in Google Webmaster Tools.

You can use google webmaster tool, that show your site status that which pages are indexed and which are pending. It is a better way to see page indexation.
