https is a kind of communication used for accessing those websites where security is required for example Banking websites, payment gateway etc. Whereas http is a protocol used for general purposes of the websites.
Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is a protocol used in networking.
Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is a combination of two different protocols. It is more secure way to access the web. It is combination of Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS) and SSL/TLS protocol.
