Reciprocal links refer to a two way link exchange, where you exchange a linkback of your website from the same domain which you link on your same website. This type of linkback is not preferred by Google as it does not support the criteria for natural linking.

Reciprocal links are most commonly arranged between you and another webmaster like you, it an arrangement to exchange backlinks so you each benefit, unfortunately this search rank manipulation scheme is easily detected, a few cases are OK, but creating a page of exchanged links is likely to get a site's search ranking penalized since Google raised their quality standards.
